Book List!

Most of us have books that are near and dear to our hearts--books that we treasure and admire.

And there are some books that have yet to be read, but that pique our interests even though we haven't read a word.

I have always loved books since I was a very young child. My parents bought me books before I even knew how to read them.

I buy books quite often--so much so, that I've accumulated an awesome to-be-read pile, like many book lovers do.

I'll only list a few of the books on my pile because it would take forever to list them all.

Note: These are not books that I plan to purchase, these are books that I have already bought, and are waiting to be read at my house. :-D Here are a few:

THE GOOD HOUSE by Tananarive Due

THE OTHER BROTHER by Brandon Massey

STREET MAGIC by Caitlin Kittredge

DEMON INSIDE by Stacia Kane

HELL HOUSE by Richard Matheson

DUMA
KEY by Stephen King

SKINWALKER
by Faith Hunter (currently reading--it's awesome!)

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UNDEAD by Kim Harrison

THE KITE RUNNER by Khaled Hosseini

WINGS by Aprilynne Pike

THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins

CURSED TO DEATH by L.A. Banks

HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE by Jeaniene Frost

URBAN SHAMAN by C.E. Murphy

DON'T MAKE A BLACK WOMAN TAKE OFF HER EARRINGS by Tyler Perry as Madea

OFFSPRING by Liam Jackson

PUSH by Sapphire

ANANSI BOYS by Neil Gaiman

HEART-SHAPED BOX by Joe Hill

FATHOM by Cherie Priest

MONSTER by Frank Peretti

I have many more, in various genres. I have non-fiction, commercial fiction, literary fiction, a few classics, etc. I named mostly genre fiction (horror/sci-fi/fantasy) because it's my favorite. :-D

So, what are a few books on your TBR pile?

Cool. I'm actually looking for a book to start reading. I'm so picky. I will read the first chapter to know if the rest of the book is even worth reading :)

Miss you too!

I'm still struggling through art biz books (which are proving less & less helpful.) I have a book on fractal geometry I still need to get to. I just finished "Life, Inc.; How the World Became a Corporation and How to Get it Back." I'd highly recommend it.

Great list, Demon Hunter!

I've got a lits of 100 on my fill in the gaps page here which is a great project spearheaded by moonrat. I've actually read three more of them that I haven't gone back to ex off yet, and I'm reading Stuart Neville's Ghosts of Belfast right now - and it's friggin' brilliant!

There's at least two that I started and didn't like, and I'm not sure what to do about that yet - I might just save them for later and try again or I might note that I only read "this much" and didn't like it.

Ms. P.

Lana,
I'll look for it. :-D

Dejanae,
LOL. :-D

Kara,
I know that you should have a huge list. :-D

Charles,
Do that. I will make a great blog post. ;-)

Merry,
Wow. Impressive list. You have a lot of the same books I do. Cool. :-D

Do you have a librarything? I'd love to befriend you and see what books we have in common. I keep telling myself that I really need to curve the book buying, because at this rate, there isn't going to be room for me in my office.

I am scared to county my tbr pile, especially when in a fit of something nameless (call it book greed) I just ordered a bunch more books. but I know there are well over 200 on that shelf. It was half full when I built it a couple of months ago. Now it's 3/4 full!

That's quite the TBR list, Tyhitia! I've got 2 giant piles next to my bed, so I just checked. Duma Key and Heart Shaped Box are also in mine! Also "Stephen King On Writing", "The Lightning Thief", "Bad Moon Rising", and "The White Queen".

You're going to love Heart-Shaped Box. Fantastic.

Street Magic and Demon Inside are awesome! You'll love them. They're my two favourite reads of the year so far.

I'm reading most of my fiction online these days - working my way through the webfictionguide.com!

Oh, gosh, I'd have to go across the room and look at them!

I'm also re-reading a bunch of books, mostly non-fiction, for various projects.

If I go to visit someone and there are no books in the house, it makes me nervous.

Tyhitia Green said...

Laughing Wolf,
:-D

Jay,
You keep telling me about THE LIGHT AT THE END. I'm going to have to find that one. ;-)

Naomi,
That's good to know. Thanks. :-D

Miladysa,
Will you compiling a list too? :-D What are a few of your favorites?

Devon,
If someone has no books, it makes me question some things--or not, if I know them...lol. ;-)

I have at least 230 in the tbr pile.

Perdido Street Station by China Mieville
Queen of Light by Jennifer Armintrout
Rudyard Kipling's Tales of Horror and Fantasy
Count Zero by William Gibson
Necronomicon: The Best Wierd Tales of H.P. Lovecraft
A Kiss Before the Apocalypse & Dancing on the Head of a Pin (Remy Chandler Books 1 & 2) by Thomas Sniegoski
The Demon King & I and Dragons Prefer Blondes by Candace Havens
Accelerando and Glasshouse by Charles Stross
Brasyl and Cyberabad Days by Ian McDonald
Wanderlust (Syrantha Jax 2) by Anne Aguirre
...and many more!

And this doesn't count the couple dozen which I have gotten significantly into and abandoned to read something else. Still bookmarked, still waiting patiently with the TBR reads.
