Righting Blues...

Hi guys! Today after a long day of working, I came home to find my handwriting addressed to me on a #10 envelope. All writer's know what this means, but for those of you who don't, it means you have received a rejection!

Now, if this particular agent would have just sent me a standard rejection, I would have been like, "Okay, no big deal." BUT, said agent sent back my query, and wrote this on top, "Dear Tyhitia, While this sounds interesting, I'll have to pass. Good luck!" At first I was kind of bummed, but I know that rejection is par for the course if you're a writer. I was not as bummed about my other 6 rejections. I didn't really care about those, but I really liked this agent.

After a few minutes of ranting, I realized that another uber agent asked me to add a prologue to my manuscript. Said agent wants to read my entire manuscript! The agent already read, liked, and edited the first three chapters of my novel. So, this sounds promising; especially since I was referred to her by one of my writer friends, who is also a client of hers. So, I'm not so blue after all! Write on!

They say that each rejection should be celebrated because it means you are one step closer to an acceptance. That never makes me feel any better... So I have no idea why I just repeated it to you. LOL. Anyway, at least you still have the strong, positive feedback from the other agent. And I have good feelings about that one. Write on! :-)

By the way, I put your book in the mail yesterday. You should get it this week.

Hang in there. You will make it, you are related to me.:).
I'm going to have to get with you later on the literary tip. Much too much going on right now for me to really get into it like I want to. But hang in there. One day you are going to come home and you are going to have that acceptance letter you've been waiting for.

Holla at ya cuz.

That really is a good sign. I ended up signing with an uber agent that a friend (another client) recommended me to. Sometimes its that foot in the door that you need.

Good Luck and welcome to the blogging world!!!
