When I first read this story, I thought it was hilarious. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-01-27-ariz-granny_x.htm
But soon after reading it, I could not believe that they were going to give this little old lady 12 1/2 years for a first time offense. Then her lawyer settled for three years and a $150,000.00 fine. Three years for a first offense? And a steep fine for someone who gets $275.00 a month for taking care of her granddaughter? I don't condone drugs whatsoever, no matter what kind. But I had to ask myself how is it that a Roman Catholic priest got less time for molesting 250 children. Something to think about folks!

Righting Blues...
Hi guys! Today after a long day of working, I came home to find my handwriting addressed to me on a #10 envelope. All writer's know what this means, but for those of you who don't, it means you have received a rejection!
Now, if this particular agent would have just sent me a standard rejection, I would have been like, "Okay, no big deal." BUT, said agent sent back my query, and wrote this on top, "Dear Tyhitia, While this sounds interesting, I'll have to pass. Good luck!" At first I was kind of bummed, but I know that rejection is par for the course if you're a writer. I was not as bummed about my other 6 rejections. I didn't really care about those, but I really liked this agent.
After a few minutes of ranting, I realized that another uber agent asked me to add a prologue to my manuscript. Said agent wants to read my entire manuscript! The agent already read, liked, and edited the first three chapters of my novel. So, this sounds promising; especially since I was referred to her by one of my writer friends, who is also a client of hers. So, I'm not so blue after all! Write on!
