NanoWrimo

This is the first year that I will be participating in NanoWrimo--and I'm excited. I didn't think I would be, but it will help keep my butt in the chair and ensure that I write daily and consistently.

For those of you who don't know, NanoWrimo stands for National Novel Writing Month, wherein participants are challenged to write a 50,000 word novel within the month of November (November 1-30). I think that I may do well. ;-) And if I don't, well at least I'm going to try. :-) For those of you participating, my Nano name is Horror Diva if you'd like to friend me. :-D

Who else is participating? Who's just going to watch?

I'm going to watch and cheer you on Tyhitia. Here's your first cheer. Go Tyhitia!!!! What do you think?

I'll try but I'm cheating and working with a manuscript I already started- an additional 50,000 words would be a godsend- i need to finish this mess!

I'll be watching and cheering you on. I had given it some thought after you told me about it, but then remembered that November isn't a good month for me. Little Bit is due around the 23rd, so that'll definitely cut into my writin time.

I'm doing it too with some members of my writing group and like Dee, I'm starting with an outline I have about 20,000 words already. All the best to you.

I am not so sure I can pull that off to be frank. Not this year. My second novel was a NaNo entry and that didn't turn out as planned really, even though I pulled it off in 15 days, because the first 15 I was lazy as hell.

Cool. Good luck with your first time! I've never taken part and probably won't. I usually have too many deadlines and stuff already to meet.

I can't make it to any NaNo events due to my geographic location and my work schedule.

Want to do a NaNo ring of sorts via blogger? A check in, and perhaps even an honor-system forfet of some kind if you fail the goal?

PS re that last idea, if you want to, I'll play blog manager with tracking details.

Robin,
Aww. Thanks. :-D I appreciate it. ;-)

Dee,
Oh, you're not supposed to cheat or at least admit to it...lol. :-D

Marcia,
Oh you don't need to do it anyway. You have deadlines. ;-)

Myne,
Really? Start from scratch. It's fun. :-D

Harry,
For shame! Lazy for the first half? ;-)

Charles,
Thanks. :-D I wish I had deadlines right about now as well. ;-)

Written,
That sucks that you don't have a local Nano group. Aside from that, good ideas all around. :-D

Go, you!

This should be a lot of fun. I plan on actually reaching that goal this year and hopefully it won't kill me. Good Luck!

Laughing Wolf,
Thanks and I'm rooting for you as well. ;-)

Raine,
Thanks. :-D I know you're busy. ;-)

Christina,
We'll both reach our goals. :-D

I've friended you over at the NaNo site (Frightfest), but don't bother to friend me back as I'm just playing cheerleader this year.

Good luck! I won't be joining in due to my arm injury, but I'll be cheering you on :)
