Fringe

Usually I'm kind of skeptical when it comes to some new TV show that claims to be the next best thing. And a new Fox series, FRINGE, was being compared to the X-files. I said to myself, "yeah, yeah, sure, sure. I don't think so." But wow. Fringe is one of my new favorite shows, hands down!

On last night's episode (2nd one of the season), some guy had just had "relations" with a prostitute. Something in the woman's stomach began writhing around soon after. By the time the guy dropped her off at the hospital, the prostitute was nine months pregnant. Then, only four hours later, her baby looked like this:

An old man! After four hours. That's crazy. If you haven't watched this show yet, then do so. It will take too long to post the character breakdown. But this show is a must-see. Watch it Tuesdays on Fox.

I should really be getting paid for all of this free publicity. :-)

2nd Blog I've been on mentioning this show. I didn't realize it was already on it's 2nd episode. I'll check it out.

I watched this episode last night and thought it was pretty good. The old scientist is very funny.

ugh - that's kind of gross and fascinating.

I really like this show a LOT. I'm not sure yet if I will call it THE best new show, but time will tell. It is certainly in the top ranks so far!

I kinda half-listened to it in the background. Sounds interesting. I don't get involved with serial shows anymore, though--who's got time to be glued to the TV on a regular basis? Miss one episode and you're (pardon the pun,) Lost. These episodes might work on a "stand alone" basis as well, though. At least it's not another Friends or Sex and the City thing, anyway!

Yup - you should get paid for free publicity.

Heff,
You should check it out. It's a breath of fresh air.

Charles,
That scientist is funny---and nuts. :-)

Laughing Wolf,
Check it out. :-)

Ello,
You're right on both counts. :-)

Tati,
I didn't tout it as the best new show, but Fox did. I said it was one of my favorite new shows. :-)

After seeing what has been offered so far, it won't be hard to take that title. This of course is not including any of my favorites that have already been on for a few seasons. :-)

Lana,
They are stand-alone shows, but you know that the show just has to examine the character's lives as well. :-)

Darius,
Thanks. Bet Fox won't pay me...lol. :-)

I'll have to see if I can get it here!

That sounds interesting. My new sci-fi show is True Blood.

Sorry this is a drive-by comment, but I wanted to let you know that Brandon Massey will be on the Book Roast at the end of October. I'll post the exact schedule next week.
But wanted to thank you for the tip!!!
(plus, he's not too bad to look at!)
:-)

And EW! about the baby!!!

Tyhitia Green said...

Bernita,
I hope so! :-) You'd love it.

TravelDiva,
I like that too, but that's more horror/romance. :-) Fringe is more sci-fi.

Gwyneth,
Yes. Go forth and watch it. :-)

Miladysa,
Oh, I hope so. :-) Let me know if it gets there. :-)

Chris,
Yay, Brandon! You're more than welcome, Chris. Anytime. I'll try to get more of my pals to take part in the book roast. I'll see who else I can pull. :-)

He's gonna blush when he reads your comment. ;-)

I'll definately check it out, but I wish each episode was on a stand alone basis. I don't have time to watch tv every night for a series. I prefer to read a book. The show did sound pretty funny, though. Bet you'll think twice about that cute guy at the club now.

I remember telling myself I'd watch this, and I've already missed a couple, I see. But if they're stand-alone episodes, will definitely check it out. Thanks. ;)

Oh, and I saw your friend L.A. Banks on the True Blood add-ons. She was very good!

Tyhitia Green said...

Paris,
Each episode is stand alone, but of course the characters have ongoing issues which aren't really pertinent to the episodes. :-)

Raine,
L.A. Banks was cool, wasn't she?;-)
Don't forget to watch Fringe tonight. :-)

Paris said...

I was thinking more like The Twilight Zone or Amazing Stories, but I'll be watching tonight. ( And if this comment shows up 3X's I'm a little computer illiterate.)

OMG, i doubt I'll sleep today...some scarey pics u have here...

I watched Fringe last night, and my brain checked out somewhere between the confessional, and the cranium drill. I'm sorry this one ain't for me. It's okay but I don't think it will be on my "to watch" list.

TravelDiva said...

LOL. Duly noted.

Tyhitia Green said...

AF,
Awww, the pics aren't that scary, now go to sleep. And don't forget to check under your bed first. ;-)

Paris,
Oh watch it again next week. :P``` Don't worry, I'll call and remind you. ;-)

Travel,
Have you watched it? :-)

Paris said...

I will be conviently working, so I won't be subjected to FOX's blatant attempt to gain viewers and boost ratings.

Carleen Brice said...

Hmmm. Good as the 1st couple of seasons of The X Files?

Tyhitia Green said...

Paris,
That's all stations. ;-)

Carleen,
Not sure if they have reached X-files status, but the premise is siimilar. :-)

I still haven't managed to watch it yet. I think I caught about ten minutes the other day. I'm not usually home nights.

Tyhitia Green said...

Devon,

You may want to record it to see if it's your thing ir not. :-)
